Pasture Biomass (kg/ha) across 500,000sqkm every 10 days

Matching stocking rates to available pasture is a critical element in achieving a profitable and sustainable grazing operation.

Cibo Labs have recently completed commercial trials of a new approach to the problem in partnership with some of Australia's largest cattle companies. Using 5-daily, 10m resolution Sentinel satellite imagery; machine learning, and rapid pasture assessments using crowd-sourcing methods - we've been generating estimates of pasture biomass over the entire Barkly Tablelands in Australia - around 500,000sqkm - every couple of weeks.

Feedback from the companies and collaborators has been very positive. We'd like to thank all those involved for supporting us to bring a new capability to the industry which is showing real potential for improved decision making.

We are now commencing further commercial trials on the NSW Northern Tablelands and South West WA. If you are interested in getting involved, please get in touch.
